I just joined the faculty at CalArts (starting Sep 1, 2026) and will teach music technology courses within the newly established Creative Computing department!
I'm working with a large team of friends on a really cool research / development project called Blind ENVY! It's a suite of audio recording/editing hardware tools designed with and for blind/visually-impaired creatives. We got a Brown Institute Magic Grant to support our work.
Recently...
I went to NIME 2026 in London! I assisted with the production of a fashion and electronics installation designed/composed by Kimia Koochakzadeh-Yazdi and Kayla Yazdi of FXE. I also co-presented "Pop Music" (involving popcorn) with Walker Smith and Nicholas Shaheed and we won Honorable Mention for best alt.NIME submission!
I am also working on a new album of songs! Stay tuned...
And in 2025...
I defended my dissertation–Vernacular Computer Music in May 2025! I recieved my Ph.D. in Computer-Based Music Theory and Acoustics from CCRMA, Stanford University.
